A stomp around the Poldice Valley in Cornwall this afternoon. In the 18th & 19th centuries it lay at the heart of the “richest square mile in the Old World”. 3000 workers mined tin, copper and arsenic. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site this once industrial landscape has been reclaimed by nature.
